I have been a Licensed Early Childhood Educator and a Certified Parenting Educator for over 10 years. I have my Master's Degree in Innovative Early Childhood Education at UC Denver. My specialty is birth - age 4 and my passion is early childhood brain development and teaching pro-social behaviors.
I am also the very lucky mother of two amazing children, aged 10 and 12 years old. My husband, our children, and I moved back to Colorado in 2021 from California. I was a lead teacher at a highly regarded social-emotional early childhood and parenting program in California where I saw repeatedly how children can thrive under a loving caregiver with a strong understanding of childhood brain development.
After moving to Evergreen, Colorado, I found that there was no shortage of academic-based preschools and childcare centers. What seemed to be missing was a science-backed approach to early childhood development and an outdoor-focused environment for young children; programs that focused on the child as a whole including their social and emotional development.
I decided to start a program to give the community an alternative to traditional childcare. Mindful Beginnings is small - just 4 children. It allows ample one-on-one time and allows daily assessments where I will meet your child where they are developmentally and structure their learning appropriately. I am trained and have years of experience in the dual fields of early childhood education and parent education together and am available for all parenting struggles that might arise.
I hold a substitute teacher license for K-12 from the Colorado Department of Education and have a Colorado Office of Early Childhood TRAILS background check.
